Property Tax Auction Results

This mapping application contains results from the City of Buffalo property auctions, commonly referred to as InREM 34 through InREM 40.  The data covers all years between 2000 and 2006.

There is a rough association between the InREM number and the year an auction took place.  The data in this application are organized by the sale date of a property.  That is to say, for instance, that any property sold at the auction in Oct 2006, is included in the InREM 40 data set. The InREM number, assigned by the City,  really indicates when a property came into the InREM system.  So, there will be InREM 39, and InREM 38 etc. properties in the InREM 40 dataset.

Application details:

  1. The mapping application is designed to display the InREM 40 (2006) property locations at all display scales.  The other InREM layers appear when the user zooms in to a neighborhood level.

  1. If a property has been in an auction more than one time, the symbol for the most recent year will appear on top.  So, if a property was in the InREM 36 auction and the InREM 39 auction, the symbols associated with InREM 39 are visible.

  1. Only one layer may be active at a time.  This means the identify tool and the query tool only work on the active layer.  To see detailed data for properties in a particular layer or to query the database for a particular year, that year must be the active layer.
