Property Timeline Project

This mapping application
demonstrates the power of linking administrative and housing data from a
variety of sources. The basic data on the map are “FLIPPED”
properties in the City of Buffalo
as defined by the Mayor’s Anti-Flipping
Task Force. However, their list has been modified to exclude
transactions for multi-unit dwellings where individual units are bought and
sold.
The databases used in
this demonstration include information on real estate transactions, HUD
transactions, Buffalo National Association of Realtors transactions, InRem Auction Property transactions, housing code
citations, housing court cases, demolitions, intentional fires, and
crimes. Click
here for detailed documentation of the individual databases used in
this demonstration.
A timeline has been
created for some of the flipped properties. The timeline demonstrates the
sequence of events that occurred at a property based on recorded dates in
each database. With each property timeline are the actual records from each
of the databases associated with the events at the property. Click
here to see a sample property timeline.
To access a property
timeline from the mapping application, use the hyperlink tool or identify tools.
The active layer should be “Flipped Properties”.
